Getting Sooo Anxious...!!!

18 ... What a magical number! 6 x 3 equals 18, 18 is when you're officially of age, 18 is when you get your driver's license back in Holland ... and finally, 18 days is how much longer we have to wait until our little one comes out. In Holland we call it de laatste loodjes wegen het zwaarst or the final stretch as it is known here in the U.S. I'm tellin' ya ... we're stretching alright.

Looking back, we can't believe in less than 18 days (give or take) we'll be welcoming our first munchkin into our lives. Little Baby Huynh is officially baked at this point, just cooling down in mom's oven. At the end of this week she's considered to be full term. So all systems should say GO!, should Anh go into labor right now. So what the hell is she still doing in there, I might ask myself. I guess she's just practicing for life outside the womb. What an emotional roller-coaster and an amazing journey this has been. Emotional due to the lack of sleep and the preparation. Soon another journey of parenthood will start. We're getting so anxious ... !!!

Seeing the doctor tomorrow morning and hopefully, everything is going prosperous. We are pretty much all prepared out for the baby. Walking 2.5 hours a day is pretty tough, but with a few days left it still has to be done. Today was Anh's last day at work. Her maternity leave officially started this evening. You're probably wondering about the pediatrician. Well, we went the easy route. The hospital Anh will deliver in has a bunch of good pediatricians that we can use. Anh's OBGYN referred us to a pediatrician (what better way than to be referred by your OBGYN) who will guide us through this new venture.

For the past couple of days, baby's daddy has caught a cold. I better pull myself physically together before she comes out. Can't have a tired and sick daddy on the Great Day of Delivery. Us Huynh's don't get sick :-). With that said ... Mama! Can I have some honey-tea!

Until the next post :-).

  2. If all of this happened like 8 years from now, I could of been the baby's pediatrician. My hospital badge does say OBGYN on it, too bad I'm not qualified yet :)
